Strynsvatn Camping is a family-run campsite that has been passed down through several Meland generations. We prioritise service, high standards and the classic Western Norwegian hospitality traditions. Strynsvatn Camping is idyllically located by Strynevatnet, approximately 11 km east of Stryn center with a fantastic view overlooking Strynevatnet and its surrounding mountains. This is the perfect starting point for experiencing the beautiful nature and the many activities in the area. The area is known for its dramatic mountains, luscious green lakes and waterfalls, and there are many hiking opportunities in the area. Here you get to experience everything Western Norway and Nordfjord has to offer, and it’s entirely up to you if you want to venture out and explore the area or just sit back and absorb the beautiful scenery and the view from the site.

Swimming, canoe, or boat hire are ever so popular on the hot summer days, and during the evening you head down to the shore, gather family and friends and enjoy a barbecue or bonfire by our barbecue area. On site we offer a range of activities including a trampoline, playground, billiards, table tennis, sandbox, volleyball, and football goals. In addition, we have bicycles for hire, and our very own a hiking trail to Melandsætra starts on site, a perfect short trip, or an excellent starting point for further trips to waterfalls, valleys, glaciers, and mountains.

At Strynevatnet, you can go fishing, licenses can be bought at our reception, and if you prefer – this is also a brilliant place to go swimming. We’re a stone's throw away from Dispaholmen, one of Strynevatnet’s most popular bathing sports with its stunning sandy beach and nice rocky cliffs around the islet.

Stryn centre is a short drive away, and offers a shopping centre, local shops, swimming pool, climbing park, cinema, restaurants and cafés, pub and much more. During the summer months, several festivals and happenings take place in Stryn, ensuring a bustling city life. Strynsvatn Camping is a perfect starting point for visits to Briksdalsbreen, Loen Skylift, Via Ferrata Loen, Stryn Sommerskisenter, Jostedalsbreen-Nationalparksenter, Gamle Strynefjellsveien, Panoramaveien, Geiranger, Vestkapp. The possibilities are endless, so why not spend the entire holiday with us?

If you want an active holiday, you've come to the right place - Stryn is a well-known hiking paradise with many marked hiking trails to mountain peaks such as Skåla, Storskredfjell and Kyrkjenibba. The Meland family have summited most of the local peaks and are more than happy to answer questions about their extended back yard.
