Welcome to Hageseter Turisthytte, idyllically located on the mountaintop nestled in between Dovrefjell, Rondane and Sunndalsfjella national parks. We are located on the old hamlet of Gautåsætrin, with old timber houses from the 17th century. During the summer, the farmer from the neighbouring farm brings cows, calves, horses, and pigs.

Hagseter Turisthytte is an excellent starting point for experiencing some of Norway's most unique nature experiences. If you want longer hikes, the bus to Snøheim, to climb Snøhetta, departs just outside our door every morning from 1st July until the autumn break, and the Pilegrumsleden on the Old King Road is 200 m away. If you prefer slightly shorter walks, we recommend Eysteinskyrkja at Hjerkinn, which is 4 km away, or Vehl Hjerkinn, which housed the old Hjerkinn mountain hut until the Black Plague, or feel free to ask us about other tour options - there are countless!

The surrounding area is also known for excellent hunting and fishing opportunities, and the river has many nice bathing spots if you fancy a dip. There are good opportunities for both muskox and moose safaris, and if you're fortunate you can experience the muskox strolling across the site.

Our cafeteria is licensed, offers dinner service, and we also have a kiosk.
